Have you heard the story about Pinocchio?
This little fella was a bit of a naughty boy, why? because he used to tell quite a few lies. The comical thing about Pinocchio is that every time he lied it was literally written all over his face! (ha).

His nose would extend each and every time he told a lie, hence the long nose in the photo.

Just In Case You Think I am Pinocchio! (ha)

When you let out some real tips on article writing you may get some people who think you are lying like Pinocchio or are just reading from a text book. So I thought it would be a good idea today to show you some results:

Tips On Article Writing (CTR)

Tips On Article Writing (CTR)

I am going to show you how to get some insane Click Through Rates from your articles. Some people are content with 10 - 20%, forget that! I want 60% +. Now I am not going to tell you I hit that every time, but I have done it on many occasions and I am confident that if you try out this formula you will see better results.

The method is not exactly cunning or technical, but easily over looked. Here is what you do:

A Killer Headline

Now I am hoping that you will believe me that I know a thing or two about headlines (ha), surely that’s why you are reading this right? Well you need to make sure that you write a headline that grabs peoples attention and promises a specific thing. So for example, I promised you I would tell you how to get 40%+ CTR using these article writing tips, it gets your readers eyes on your content.

Tease Them With Your First Paragraph

What you have to do is ask them a question, which is obviously what they want to hear. So you may start off by saying: Do you want to know how to get 40%+ CTR with articles? This re-affirms that they are going to get what they want.

Tell Them What You Are Going To Give Them

Then break down exactly how you are going to tell them what they want to hear. So if I break my article up into sub headings, I would summarize these in paragraph two so they know what they are going to get. Think of it like one of those annoying TV previews before an advert! :)

Give It To Them (But Not Completely)!

Make sure you deliver what you promised in your article. However, you need to end the article with the reader needing more information.

The Killer Resource Box

Now this is where you really get results. Instead of writing the old boring article resource box - e.g. : My name is Wayne and I have been in MLM for…... Forget that! You need to effectively complete the article in the resource box with a clear call to action.

This forces the reader to read your resource box, and not see it as an optional extra. Then when they get to the end there is a tempting call to action which they need to click to get more information. Trust me, it works like gang busters!

Thanks Wayne, those are some insane CTR's

I'll be using these tips in my own writing.

    Thanks,
    Matt
  • Hey Wayne,

You gave some awesome tips here. I have a standard that I use in the body that will go great with this. After my headline and subheadline are nailed, I use this:

Tell them what you're going to tell them
    Tell them
Tell them what you've told them

Works every time, and keeps people on track for what you want them to feel when they read.
  • Hey Wayne,

This is flipping awesome. I've been dusting off some copywriting books lately so it's great that you've brought this up.

I'm going to go to EzineArticles.com now and "reverse engineer" some of your articles.

    Take care,

    Wayne
  • Great stats bro.

I know the work ethic you put in to getting these results. Well deserved.

Thanks for also breaking down all the important elements to writing great articles
  • Those are some unreal numbers. You must be getting some massive traffic and conversions from articles. The headline is probably the most important part of an article. If that doesn't entice people to click on your article a resource box or good article won't matter.

    Good stuff,

  • So true Eric, so true!
  • Hey Wayne,

What a great and easy to follow way for creating articles that have high click thru rates.

I like how you treat the resource box as part of the post and of course have your call to action. Thanks for sharing those cheeky tips.

  • Hey Wayne,

I'd be lying if I told you I didn't learn anything from this article (LOL)

Haven't done much with articles, but I like the resource box idea. Thanks, man!
  • Hey no worries Derek, glad it helped my friend.
  • Hey Wayne,

    Those are very impressive numbers!

Buddy...when are you going to come out with your own book. Thanks for sharing your formula with us.

    Chat with you later...

  • Hey Josh,

Good question, I think it is long over due but I have no real plans for it right now. Until then my blog will be one big free ebook! (ha)
  • Hey Wayne,

Giving a lot away again Wayne. Gotta love it.

I haven't done much with articles yet. It's an area I'm looking forward to tapping into though.

    Thanks for a great post!

Exactly as I write articles Wayne! :)

All the parts you describe are equally important but the resource box is probably the piece that most people will need to give attention to.

Of course it goes without saying that doing the above without consideration for keywords is a waste of time.

    Thanks for an excellent post.

    Cheers
