Have you ever heard anyone say that? I know I have - I distinctly remember speaking to a prospect on the phone and he was like - “Here Is My 2 Cents - The are no mlm success stories, I have tried everything and it does not work!”.

I wanted To Convince The Guy

I will be honest I wanted to invest some time into this guy just to make him see that it does work, if you know what you are doing. He gave me the spiel about how much he could earn by doing his IT day job, and MLM doesn’t work.

In a way, I know how he feels, he was frustrated, and I come from an IT background also, and there are some highly lucrative IT jobs out there that can tempt you into running the 9-5 till your 65. But personally I am ambitious, and I want more than a highly paid IT job can pay me, and be my own boss!

Some Home Truths To Digest Before You Will Ever Have Your Own MLM Success Story

I thought I would spell out some home truths for people that are looking to get into MLM and searching for their own home based business success stories. Whilst it is very possible to make success happen really quickly, it is highly unlikely. For that reason I want to prime you on some the difficulties that you will probably face.

You Are Likely To Earn No Money For Months!

The chances are, at the beginning of building your business you will make no money. If you get into paid advertising expect to be making a loss before you see any profit. If you are focusing on free advertisement, expect to not burn money, but you will exchange money for your time instead. So you will take a number of months before you see the results of your time investment.

You Are Likely To Fail Before You Succeed!

If you are used to a day job, then prepare yourself for a shock. There is nothing guaranteed in this game, the chances are you will be “tested” the most in your first 60-90 days. This is because you will face the shell shock of rejection and failure.

Obviously marketing online is, in my opinion, is a better way forward. But it still has challenges. If you build yourself up for over night success online you will fall harder!

Generating Leads Is Not Easy At The Beginning!

If you think that generating home based business leads is easy, think again. The people that know the MLM marketing secrets, make it look easy! Big difference! You definitely can do it, but do not be disillusioned, you need to work very hard!

Have I Gone Mad!?

I am not writing this because I had a bad weekend and I want to scare you, I want you to know the truth. Once you get your business up and running and get over the initial hurdles it is worth it! I am still learning every day, but I have over come many challenges.

If you have a good idea of what is potentially in your way, you can prepare yourself better. So, say sorry to your upline from me, I had to keep it real. I look froward to hearing your MLM success stories in the future.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for sharing this great post and putting the truth out there. I think one of the reasons for the lack of success is that people get into this industry on the back of seeing a glossy brochure or video that sells the idea of having this fantastic liftstyle.

I think that most are not prepared for the work, time and effort that you have to put into a business like this. i am looking forward to reading more Wayne.

It is so nice to hear some honesty about this business. Too many people are sold on the hype...not the substance. If you want to be a millionaire in this business, you need to treat your business as a million dollar business. This takes WORK!!! Great insight.

The over-night success stories do seem to be somewhat embellished, don't they?

The funny thing is that they would probably be able to relate to people better if they just told the truth...

Plus, this would give more people hope when things start off rough.

I have apologised to my upline. Thankfully he is very understanding.

The truth shall set you free! I know it is better to face the truth up-front an prepare for it instead of not knowing it or burying your head in the sand over it. Letting it creep up on you and smash you over the head like a sledge hammer.

More leaders should be telling their prospects this side of the business.

Speaking the truth brother. There are too many people that think this industry is made up of overnight success stories. The thing they don't see is the story behind all of the income claim headlines how the people struggled for years and finally it clicked and they began experiencing success. People have to understand that nothing worth having is easy. Is success more attainable in this industry than traditional industries? Absolutely!

The truth needs to be told, way to go for doing so! So many people come up with their claims of making tons of money in a short period of time that newbies get caught up in the hype. It just doesn't work that way.

There is a lot of work that goes into it in the beginning with little or no pay and it takes time to build a solid foundation and build upon it.

Hey Wayne,

My two cents, I totally agree. This is a real business, and you have to learn the ins and outs to get into profit.

The money is here, but the biggest problem in the industry are the claims that suck people in thinking they will be in profit immediately, with no work, a fully automated system, and someone will come wash your car. Okay maybe not that last part, but you know what I mean.
