The Tetris Way of Building an MLM Empire!

One of the games I used to love to play back in the day was Tetris. I use to hammer that Game Boy day after day trying to rack up points so I could brag to my buddies that I am the highest scorer.

My Biggest Frustrations

You know, one of my biggest frustrations was getting to a high level and still coming across enormous challenges. The thing is, the better I got in the game, the harder and faster the challenges were thrown at me.

I admit there were times when I would want to throw that “damn thing” out of the window…

throw-crazy

…. but I kept coming back for more.

Why Did I keep coming back?

I guess I kept coming back because I knew, deep down that I am not a quitter, and I know I am a winner! I had to just get on with it. Today it dawned on me this game is a reflection on a lot of the challenges we face in building MLM today.

The Challenges of Building MLM

You start off slowly, and it seems like nothing is moving. You persevere and get your fingers burnt a few times along the way. In time, if you stick with it, you get better. Then what happens? The challenges become harder and faster. More competition comes into the market, You get slapped by “Big G” after you mastered a lucrative campaign - and you are frustrated.

The Thing I love

You know what, that is just way it is. As Jim Rohn would say - “It’s not the direction of the wind, but how you set your sails”. We can all set our sails positively and keep building our MLM empires. These challenges make us stronger and our stories interesting for people to hear in the future.

Have you ever had any challenges while building your MLM empire?

  • Hey Wayne,

Great Post, I used to love and hate that game.

I think the example here is awesome. The obstacles in life don't get easier as you move up the ladder. You just become better equipped to handle them.

  • I remember back in the day Wayne when I had that game.

It surely does remind of when you get knocked down in MLM, you'd better hurry and get back up. Otherwise, everything is going to pile up on you and you're going to find yourself in a very uncomfortable situation.

  • I love it Wayne!

I keep coming back here to get my 80's nostalgia fix ;)

Have I had challenges? You bet -- my wife and I started off like gangbusters building this business.

We signed up like 24 people within our first 6 months (at a $1,500 buy-in -- not cheap by MLM standards)

But then we started to fizzle because we ran out of warm market...

We've been working the Internet ever since so we can get the oodles and oodles of leads all the goo-roos get ;)

  • Yeah, enter the 80s zone! ;)

Congrats! You guys done well in your warm market there, and I am sure based on the value you are giving on your blog that you are cleaning up on the internet.

Thanks for passing by my friend.

  • Similar to Mario Kart on the Wii. I am so determined to get my triple star status!

Nice connection, biz to games. The mindset for success is the same. Weird how people apply the success mindset to things which isn't going to really benefit them in life or business, but when it comes to something that will benefit them most quit.

  • Ha - The 3 star! Damn, I am still just finishing my 2 star campaign! lol

Yeah, there is definitely a weird synergy between businesses and games alright.

    Thanks for passing by.

  • Hey Wayne,

I loved playing some Game Boy. Nice tied in!

It's hard to win at something when you quit. So therefore how will someone know if they won, when they are thinking about quitting.

Whether it is business, marriage, or family we are going to come across challenges. Challenges will only make us stronger.

    Chat with you later...

  • Good point Josh, it is not just business, family too.

    Thanks for passing by.

  • Hey Wayne,
Great post. I used to wear those gameboys out too. Great point though. No matter what you are trying to succeed in you will more than likely get knocked down more than once. True success is not about the knock downs, but how you get back up from them and move forward.

  • Hah ha - Nice to see another ex-gameboy lover - Yeah is a hard journey, but it is worth it.

    Cheers for passing by Eric.
