The Recipe For Success In Life - Will You Pick Failure or Success?

I have a confession to make!

I am a secret TV addict! Don’t worry I have it under control (ha)… Every now and then I see something that really moves me, and I just had to share this with you. It is a story about this guy from the UK called Eddie Izzard…

Recipe For Success In Life

Recipe For Success In Life

This guy ran, wait for it… 43 Marathans in 51 days for Charity!

Can you imagine the determination that must take? That is 1,105 Miles! Now the thing that makes this even more interesting for me is the fact that he had no experience of running marathons before the run and he had approximately 8 weeks preparation, come on now! My partners mother run the London Marathon a couple years back and I know from her experience that most runners plan for 9 months to a year for 1 Marathon!

Surely Eddie has the recipe for success in life?

The bottom line is this, they told him it was not possible and he would risk serious injury, but he believed in his goal and stuck to it like a man possessed! He would not take no for an answer. Failure was ripped out of his dictionary and fed to the dogs!

Personally I hate running! But I like what this guy has done for charity, and the challenges that he has to over come.

Will You Choose Failure or Success?

If we want to learn from Eddie, we have to make sure that we focus on our goals. Never give up and be like a man possessed to succeed. Remember success breeds confidence, and confidence is one of the important ingredients for success. That is the recipe for success in life, aim high and never give up.

Let Me Share a scene with you, were Eddie has to endure a painful “Ice Bath” after running one of his 43 marathons…

  • WOW.... what determination that guy has! My jaw dropped when I read that. Especially that he had no prior marathon experience.

I like what Chris said "Usually when people say it can't be done. It just means that they themselves are too lazy to try, and don't want you too."

    What an incredible story!

    Thanks for sharing

  • Hey Wayne,

Sounds like an extended Basic Training. I thought us Army guys had to run a lot. He didn't even have someone yelling at him.

Usually when people say it can't be done. It just means that they themselves are too lazy to try, and don't want you too.
  • Man I wonder how many pairs of shoes he went through running that many races in that time?

    Inspirational!

    Eric
  • Good question Eric, I reckon loads!

    Definitely inspirational.

    Thanks for passing by.
  • Wow! That was very inspiring, Wayne. Thank you for sharing this!

Our youngest is a huge Eddie Izzard fan. I've got to tell him about that.

You're right, success does breed confidence. I have experienced that first hand. But success doesn't come without pain. Pushing through it is the key!

    Have an awesome week!

    Ilka
  • Ilka, you are so right - success does not come without pain.

In a weird way that is what makes it more sweeter when you achieve, because you have to endure the pain to get there - Just like our good friend Eddie! ;)

I wish you a great week also my friend, and thanks for passing by.
  • Wow Wayne!

That is incredible! What focus and determination!

You said something interesting "he believed in his goal and stuck to it like a man possessed".

Do you have any friends or family that thought you were possessed when you started pouring your all into network marketing? I know I have!

But this is what it takes. Some might think you're crazy, they wouldn't want to do it (just like we wouldn't want to run like that!), but you know where you want to be, and you are getting there. Period.

    Thanks for sharing this Wayne!

  • Ha! The answer is yes, I did get some "weird" responses to my choices to pursue home business, in general they were very supportive, but there will always be 1 or 2!

As you say that is part of the challenge.

    Thanks for passing by.
  • Some people will term this as a form of torture.

Eddie took what definitely seems like an impossible task and made it a massive achievement. Everyone on the planet can learn a valuable lesson from this.

I like running but 43 marathons is a out of this world.

    Well done Eddie.

    Great post Wayne
  • Yeah, I know, when I was watching it I felt for the guy. But I really admire his drive.

    Thanks for passing by.

    That's unbelievable!

I love working out but that is just mental!

Really makes you think about that fact that we have so much more potential than most of us ever use.

    43.....

    Matt

  • I know Matt, crazy or what!

You are right, locked away is a wealth of potential we can all unleash.

    Thanks for passing by.
  • That is some serious commitment.

Wow Wayne, I can't believe that.

I love staying fit, and that includes running but nothing like this. I'll tell you what I am committed to - success in network marketing.

    Have a good weekend,
    Jerome Ratliff

  • Glad to hear the commitment Jerome, I think there is only 1 Eddie, when it comes to Marathons, but we all have the capabilities achieving some great things.

    Thanks for passing by.
  • Wow, this is great stuff Wayne,

I HATE running, period. So this guy MUST have been a man possessed!

Do I have what it takes to get to the top of Network Marketing?

Yes, you're damn right! See, now you got me all pumped (LOL)
  • Hey Derek, man I am feeling pumped now too! (ha)
  • Hey Wayne,

That is an amazing story! 43 marathons! I have to really pep talk myself just so I can do 2 miles...43 Marathons!!!

    Oh man...I gotta go run!

    Chat with you later...
    Josh
  • I know, I would struggle with 2 miles as well! Cheers for passing by.
