MLM Success Stories - The Magical Truth

MLM Success Stories - The Magical Truth

Have you ever wondered how some people seem to make it big in the industry while the rest of the 97% struggle to make a dollar and conclude that it doesn’t work?

Surely There Must Be A Conspiracy!?

Personally I had this thought many a time, and I was intrigued by all the MLM success stories that I would hear. I am not just talking about online, offline as well. I have met some big earners, who to this day, still use offline techniques and get big results. Personally I prefer online, but you have to respect anyone who gets results.

So, what are these guys doing that is different to the masses?

There is one major difference that I have noticed between a successful marketer and the other 97% that are struggling, it is “The Slight Edge Mentality“. If you are into personal development I am sure that you must have heard of, or read “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson.

I am not here to do a book review, but it struck me that there is one quote in the book that seems to seperate MLM success stories and the 97% that fall by…..

“Easy To Do, but Easy Not To Do….”

That, in my opinion is the “Magical Truth” behind these MLM Success stories. Many of the 97% are not prepared to do what it takes to get the level of success that they strive for. Let us look at blogging, the majority of the tasks are boring mundane activities that need to be done regularly.

You have to do keyword research, think of fresh and valuable content, create backlinks by writing articles, etc. I have seen first hand some reactions from people that want a successful blog. They start the blog then decide to give it a miss for a day or two after 30 days of no results, then give up completely after 60 days. Then they look at the succesful blogs and think - “How did that person get so much traffic and blog love!”…

The tasks are easy to do, but easy not to do! So, if you want to be the next MLM success story commit to a goal and stay focused until you get it.

    Hey Wayne,

Its the same thing everywhere you look,

I see it every day at the gym, 90% (or more) of people never get the results they want..

    Why?

Not enough work, no commitment, lots of excuses.

    Its not rocket science,
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Hey Wayne,

You spilled the beans! Let out the magical secret. I can't believe it! ;)

Seriously though, that's exactly right. It's so easy NOT to do it. Find out what you need to do and then, like Derek said, do it till it's done. It's not a time, it's till it's finished. Period.

As far as a blog goes, it can be discouraging to have a brand new one that no one comments on or knows about. That's why it's so important to get out there and start loving on other great blogs.

If it's really rough, have a friend or family member come along and make comments till you get real traffic. ;) My sister was my biggest fan the first month of my blog. (Shh don't tell anyone)

But really, that helped motivate me to write well enough that even someone who knows me best will enjoy it, as well as being accountable to keep posting. Of course the whole time you'll also be working at getting real visitors, but in the beginning breath some life into it by having your best friend stop by and leave a comment. Why not?

    All the best!
    Susanna
  • Definitely the slight edge is working for them. Great reference to the Slight Edge, it's a fantastic book.

I've adopted the slight edge approach in being successful in MLM and it has paid off really well. This is the truth to success in the industry.

    Have a good one Wayne,

  • The bottom line is that everyone that has made it in this business has worked their asses off. Hands down. Unfortunately, all people see when they come into the business is the millions of dollars being made, and not the struggles and triumphs that have take years.

  • Ah, you referenced my FAVORITE personal development book. I love "The Slight Edge." ....and I use it. Actually, my post for today is kind of about it.

"It's easy to do and it's easy not to do!"

    So very true!

    Have an awesome evening!

    Ilka
  • Great book for sure!

    Thanks for passing by
  • Hey Wayne,

The way I look at is when people ask, "How long do I hafta do it?

I say, "You do it until you GET THE JOB DONE!"

Nothing less, nothing more. No whining, no making excuses -- get out there and GET THE JOB DONE!
  • I like your approach Derek...
Straight to the point, with no BS! :)

"Easy to do. Easy not to do" I heard Jim Rohn say this same line Wayne. It really doesn't matter who said it first though, what matters is that it's true. I know from firsthand experience and I'm sure we all do.

  • Hey Marcus,

Yeah, do remember the great Jim Rohn say this also, as they say "great minds think alike"...
  • Hey Wayne,

I have listened to the audiobook of The Slight Edge many times and I still love it. I listen to it to remind myself to stay focused on the simple easy to do little steps that I need to take, rather than looking for that quantum leap.

    Thanks for reminding me,
    Wayne
  • Hey Wayne,

That is an awesome line! It is so easy to put of the task to put out valuable content everyday. The everyday activities is what makes a successful blog vs. one that is struggling for traffic. Some folks could be satisfied with what they are receiving, but let me say that there is more available for you.

    Let's keep rocking it!

    Chat with you later...
    Josh
  • Oh for sure! Lets keep it rockin!
  • Wayne,

I always say when you think you did enough you need to do more.

"keyword research, think of fresh and valuable content, create backlinks by writing articles, recording videos, webinars" Many of us do one or two things and after a month or two are discouraged because they are not getting those magical results. It is more than that. You have to continue at it, develop yourself and continue at it. Do it over and over and over.

    Great quote Dwayne!

    Have a great day!!

    Tommy D.
  • Hey Tommy

Some wise words there my friend. You are quite right, there is always more that can be done.

Thanks for passing by my friend.
  • A great book The Slight Edge. It is in my top 10.

Another quote from the late great Jim Rohn
"Success is not doing extraordinary things, it is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well"

    Need I say any more?

    Dwayne
  • Love that quote Dwayne! A Jim Rohn Classic!
