Network Marketing Prospecting - Is It Still Worth It?

With the introduction of internet marketing and using such things as a Twitter Marketing Strategy do we still need to use of the old school Network Marketing business techniques? Do we need Network Marketing Prospecting?

In my opinion yes, and I have 3 reasons why I recommend that you still use this Network Marketing Prospecting. You see it is all too easy to get comfortable with online marketing and begin to hide away from people.

But what do I mean by Network Marketing Prospecting? Well, I mean speaking with your leads on the phone (or in person if they are local) to prospect them. I have done this using MLSP with great success, it massively increased my conversions.

Here are the 3 reasons why good old MLM Prospecting is not dead:

1) People do Business with people: It all seems too easy to generate some leads, then direct them to a squeeze page, then crack off some emails. The problem with that is, people like to do business with people, not computers. I believe it is a good move to pre-qualify your leads before contacting them, or you could waste a lot of time with tire kickers. But if you have a potential prospect that could join your business, you need to get on the phone!

2) Get More Out of People: If you get on the phone and build rapport with your prospects and they join you, there is a better chance of getting more out of them. I do not mean financially. I mean they will work harder in your business. Which in turn means that they will be more productive, and happier. That will benefit all parties in the long term.

3) True Network Marketing Business: Remember, the name of the game is networking. So if you build a good relationship with people you will benefit. So get to know your prospects and build your contacts using Network Marketing Prospecting. You may even find that person knows someone else who could be a massive contact for you.

  • Ahhh... For once I am on the bad side of the blog issue. I know I need to work on this, but I don't talk to people unless they come to me. That is why I love the internet so much. I don't have to talk to people until they are qualified and opt-in.

I know, I know, my wife tells me the same thing. She didn't make it to director with Mary Kay by waiting on someone to ask for make-up.

I do however teach courses and do seminars, Does that count for anything?
  • Hey Chris,

Yeah for sure, doing seminars and courses is a big thing, I am sure you will be interacting with many prospects there.

To be honest, you are doing the right thing by pre-qualifying your prospects, thats the way to go!

    Cheers for passing by.
  • Wayne,
It is amazing to me the amount of people that think they can set themselves financially free without dealing with people. The internet is merely a catalyst for leads for a network marketing business. You still can't deny the fact that people are what make someone successful in this business. I wish I could scream this loud enough for everyone to hear who thinks that the internet is the end all for making a bazillion dollars in NM.

  • Hey Eric, that is spot on, I could not agree with you any more my friend!

  • Hey Wayne,

Great Topic! I believe with internet marketing you can get lazy by being in front of a computer. There are a lot of great people right outside your door. You just have to network with them. You nailed it by saying people still like to meet other people in public. Good stuff!!!

    Have a great day...

  • Hey cheers Josh, I am glad you agree. The internet is an amazing tool, but there is still more we can do with prospecting.

    Cheers for passing by.
