Following on from yesterdays MLM training secrets I wanted to discuss something. On my journeys I have come across a few debates about MLM SEO or Affiliate Marketing using free methods. I thought that I would chime in with my $0.02! So, where should you concentrate your time?

The Benefits and Problems of MLM (Using SEO)
With MLM you need to focus on building your brand to project that you A) Know what you are doing and B) someone that people want to work with. The benefits of this is once you get it right you build a personal brand that can plug into any opportunity and build big teams and long term residual income. You have to get your content out there and give useful information to build a rapport and trust with your prospects.
The negatives are, in most cases, it takes longer to really see a decent income. You have to build the residual income from pennies up to massive monthly income. Obviously this does not happen over night. The impatient person will give up before the rewards are delivered.
The Benefits and Problems of Affiliate Marketing Using Free Methods
Affiliate marketing is more of a direct approach to collect commissions by putting out Free content about your product or service. Depending on your choice of product you can get up to 75% or more in commissions without owning the product. Obviously the sale prices can widely vary. You can also get paid smaller commissions for just collecting leads for large companies or merchants via the CPA route. So the beauty is, it is easier money and you do not need to ever be known or have a brand built, you just need to know how to drive traffic to an offer and make profit from it.
The negatives are that if you do not know how to generate profitable traffic you have no income. Also you will not build a brand online that will be of value to you in the future. Some may argue that it is a benefit to be “underground” making money but it depends on your personal preference. In all honesty I can see the appeal on both sides of the fence.
What Is Better? - FORGET THAT WHY NOT HAVE BOTH!?
If you are looking at both of these models of income why not go for both? If you setup your sales funnel the right way you can collect home based business leads and then offer them relevant affiliate products. Then if they feel that they get value from you, you can recruit them into your primary business. All from one lead, one campaign!
Personally that is the route that I follow using MLSP and is an easy way to get up front cashflow and back end primary sign ups - Good old funded proposal via attraction marketing! And if you are even more clever you will generate those MLM leads for free using SEO!
