Introducing an MLM newbie Maakoa. They launched in July 2009 and I have decided to do a quick Maakoa review for you. Sit back, enjoy and take notes.

Who is Maakoa?
They are a new entrant to the health and nutrition industry. They have launched with two health drinks, their flagship product is called Koopuwa. Their team consists of Bruce Davis (President & CEO), David Simpson (Vice President), Todd Kirkpatrick (Vice President), Jeff Bruning (Vice President) and Jerry Nelson (Director of IT).

What exactly is their product range?
As mentioned previously in this Maakoa review they market two products. The first one is called Koopuwa. Koopuwa contains the well known and sort after Acai berry. If you are familiar with the MLM industry lately you will notice a big trend in Acai berry juices. Their juice also contains the Cupuaçu fruit. They claim this fruit has shown to “Naturally stimulate the immune system”, “Support the body’s ability to fight disease”, “Generate healthier skin and hair”, “Help maintain healthy cholesterol levels”, and more.

How Do you make Money in the Maakoa Opportunity?
To get started the Maakoa Review can reveal you have to buy a starter pack which will set you back $229 or $499. Quite a hefty buy in, but I guess it depends on what their compensation plan is like, lets look at that right now. There are seven main income streams that are on offer:

1) Retailing the Product directly to your customers.
2) Fast Start Bonus - Paid to the recruiter of a new distributor, payout based on starter kit purchased.
3) Team Commissions - percentage of your paid leg volume, paid on a weekly basis once qualified.

Maakoa Review Conclusion
I can see that the Maakoa Opportunity has an impressive compensation plan. I can also see that it is very simular to many of the new super juice MLM businesses that are emerging. My only concern is there enough room for all these companies with very simular products and compensation plans? Well only time will tell.

The start up costs are relatively high when you consider we are in a global recession. However if the right effort and marketing is in place then that original investment can be recovered in no time at all. The key word is “the right marketing”. The MLM industry has a 95% failure rate and this is largly due to the lack of knowledge to market effectively.
