I am going to explain how you can use research method that I call “Instant keyword research” to find some Golden Nuggets - valuable long tail keywords. This is a great compliment to Article Marketing Automation.
Long Tail Keyword Research is a critical part of any successful marketing campaign. You may be focused on SEO, PPC, banner advertisement or many more. The bottom line is Long Tail Keyword Research is still required.
The tips I will share with you will help you understand “instant keyword research”:
Primary Research Method
The first thing you have got to do is what I call the “Initial Research Method”. This will scan your target market for golden nuggets. What are golden nuggets? Well, principally they’re potential keywords that we will dig deeper with.
You need to use the Google free external keyword tool, this is found with a simple search engine search. Make certain that you leave the “synonyms” box checked and put in a very broad term, such as “Dog training”.
Collect The Golden Nuggets
By now you should have a results page with various key words. You have got to make a list of all the results that have a minimum of three words and greater than 1000 global searches.
Now take the list of key words that meet that criteria and feed them, one by one, into the Google tool again. Yet this time you need to remove the tick in the synonyms check box, and set the match type to “Exact”, are you with me? You do not want broad!
Now gather all the keywords that have 4 or more words and at least 500 “Exact” global searches.
Spy On Your Competition
The final step is to analyze the first page of the search engine results page (SERPS). You’re looking for some weak competition that you can beat. Ideally you plan to find web 2.0 properties, articles or deep pages of websites. When I say deep pages I mean, not the domain itself. Mainly the actual page of a domain that is ranking on the first page.
If you find these on the initial page there’s a good chance you can out-rank them with an article or your blog with additional back linking. If you want to take the keyword research to the next level you can use tools such as Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai to really Analise your competition and very confident that you can out-rank your competitors.
Follow these tips and you will literally have more long tail keywords than you can handle and master instant keyword research.
