Jason Better

As you may know I have been camping out at the Jason Better Blog for quite a while a now. While I have been frequenting Jason’s quality blog I have been watching how he works and been taking some serious notes.

Lets face it, I have to give credit where credit is due - The blog is “sticky!

What do I mean by “sticky”?

I mean loyal readers that come back time and time again and refer their friends. I know this because I found his blog from a recommendation from my buddy Dwayne Huggins.

Well it is one thing reading a tutorial on “how to get blog readers” or ” how to get more blog traffic” it is a completely different ball game getting people to come back consistently and tell their friends about your content.

So how does Jason Better, this 2 inch tall blogging Master Mind get more sticky blog readers?

Well here is what I have learned, he follows a clever blueprint:

He Always Has A Killer Headline

One thing you will notice is this, every time you visit his blog he has a headline that screams “CLICK ME NOW WAYNE!” - So what do I do? I click it! Honestly that is one of the biggest takeaways I picked up from him.

You can write the best copy in the world but if know body is tempted to click and read, you are stuffed!

He Is Not Scarred To Go In With A Two Footed Challenge!

This is a bit of a UK soccer term, when you tackle with two feet it means you jump in and do not care what people think. This is what I mean with his blog. He will open up a topic and state his views regardless if they may ruffle some feathers and let the readers fall in line.

Here are two examples:

Consistent Value

Regardless of his headlines and “two footed challenges” he always returns great value. Once he has the readers attention he delivers on his headline promise with great value. This is an important thing, because you can get people in with great headlines but if you want to learn how to get blog readers that will come back, you need to give them great content.

  • Hey Wayne,

Nice pic! Ewww (reminds me of the time gum ended up on my sweater at the airport, but that's another story. ;) )

Jason is awesome. His blog is very sticky! I stumbled over there off the Betternetworker site somehow and was hooked that first day.

I am very impressed with the way he does reply to every single persons comment, no matter how many there are. And sometimes there's a lot!

You can learn so much just by going there every day and studying what he does. What makes Jason Better tick? ;)

    Make it a great day!

  • The famous 2 feet challenge.

    JB's blog is amazing.

Along with all you have said, another thing to add to his 'stickness' is the way in which he interacts the people who comment on his site. He responds to every comment. This builds rapport and has his readers coming back for more. It also shows that his blog is 'user friendly'.

    (thanks for the mention)

We have all learned a lot from JB

    Dwayne

  • Yeah, good point. His interaction is very good. Not many pro bloggers bother to respond to nearly every comment they get, let alone checking out their readers blogs and returning the favor.

    Thanks for that Dwayne.
