One thing I noted early on in this blogging game was the way the pro bloggers worked and how they kept their readers engaged day after day. It is ok keeping your blog updated regularly but how do you maintain a Network marketing blog and find ways to target MLM keywords that will help people but still keep them wanting to come back?

The MLM Keyword Is A Critical Ingredient, but not the only one!

This is what I learned, you need keywords to get the search engines excited and let them spider your blog day after to day,but you need “interesting” content to keep the real people coming back…

So, What Do You Do?

Simple, use your real world experiences, your own life, problems or even entertaining experiences or scenarios to dress up the “text book stuff”. The biggest problem I see with some blogs is, they actually have some really good content, but they deliver it like it is a college essay!

Here Is What I Do With My MLM Keywords

I brainstorm and do some keyword research. I have many posts on this, so just search and you will find many cool methods. Then I will think of a “quirky” headline that will make people think - WHAT IS THAT ABOUT!?

Then I “nest” my keywords in the content. Just make sure that you deliver on your title, or your readers may not want to return. So, keep it simple and be yourself people.

MLM Marketing Debate | Is Aggressive Content Marketing A Good Plan or Just Spam?

Good content marketing plan or spam?

If you want to succeed in marketing your business online, I am sure many, if not all of you, would agree with me that getting your content noticed is a priority.

If you are using paid methods such as Facebook PPC then you can basically use money to get traffic fast.

However for free methods you have to think of the most effective way to get your content out there, and drive massive traffic Therefore many consider using an aggressive content marketing plan. You know what I mean, right? Here are a couple of examples….

• Blasting out multiple videos to achieve many first page listings
• Increasing Blog Traffic by submitting multiple article variations (spinning)

But here is the MLM Marketing Debate…. Is this method of marketing a good content marketing plan or just spam?

Honestly, I can see an argument for both sides. If a user searches for a keyword and gets the same duplicated article or video it is not a good experience for them.

So, I can see why some people would object to article spinning and using video tools to send out many videos.

Here Is My Opinion…

Personally, I say it comes down to “how” you do it. When I spin an article, I will create almost unique variations. It takes a lot more work, but I tend to get more backlinks and articles ranked. Therefore from a user perspective they get the benefit of non-duplicate content.

However I think a bad content marketing plan is creating completely duplicate content and playing the numbers game by blasting it everywhere possible.

My Point Is….

If you are new to the game, and you have not hit your first dollar, three or four figure month then be careful. You may be still in the vicious cycle of following these traffic trends and losing your money and your tail.

You can almost make any traffic source profitable, but you have to stick with it through the “pain barrier” and learn how to extract cash from it. Don’t jump into Facebook PPC as your new magic pill and give up in 60 days, then jump onto the new thing.

Either stick with what you are doing already and master that first. Alternatively check out some of the early pioneers like Derek Alvarez, choose it, make a commitment to it and master it!

Every time he goes home from his day job and works on his new MLM plan, his partner asks: “How much money have you made this month?” - She has a tendency to look at him with a patronizing smirk, which hacks away at his confidence levels each time, almost hoping to cut him down like a lonely tree in the forest.

So, I asked Bob - How are you dealing with these Annoying Comments?

I must admit, I expected Bob to tell me that he was quitting his new MLM plan and sticking to the day job. However I was surprised by his response…

“I Am More Motivated Today Than Ever Before!…..”

I was like…… “Really”?….. I looked him in the eye and I know this dude was FIRED UP! He actually took the negativity from his partner and used it as motivation to get more results.

I have to take my hat off to him, I know it takes a strong character to overcome the negativity that gets thrown at you when you attempt something “different”.

My point in sharing this story with you today is this, whatever happens, do not let the MLM dream stealers take your potential MLM success away from you.

I will be honest, this is something that used to annoy me big time, however I did learn a few things along the way that may help you to get targeted mlm leads and traffic and understand why your good work is not coming to fruition.

First Thing To Check - Search Volume…

Whilst it may have looked like the keyword was super targeted and potential to give you MLM leads free all day and long, did it actually have any search volume?

As simple as this may sound, I hear it a lot - “I have 3 spots on page one - amazing” - Well, yeah but nobody is searching for it, so all the best!

Your Actual Search position - Big Difference Between Top 3 and “The Rest”….

Contrary to some peoples belief, page one listings is not always enough. Did you know that Position 1 gets approximately 40% of the traffic? Yeah, the lions share!

Basically, anything less than position 3 will give you a lot less traffic, so the reason why you may not be getting MLM leads free from page one is you are in a low position and your competitors are chewing up the traffic like a hungry dog!

Is Your Title and Description Sexy Enough?

Another little clanger is actually getting a top 3 slot of a reasonably searched term and still not getting any traffic and MLM leads free. This could because you done all the hard work and followed your on page SEO checklist but didn’t make your title eye catching or description just isn’t sexy enough!

The problem that I see is, when you have a new blog or piece of content you are really enthusiastic about getting it ranked and you generally get backlinks fast. Then the reality of the task sets in and you start to drop off. You know, one link here, one link there….

This is the mistake!….

Link Velocity Is More Important Than Getting backlinks fast

By all means get backlinks fast, but you have to make sure that you are “consistent”. So if you are blasting backlinks at your site for a week then stop, you are in trouble. What the search engines want to see is your site gaining popularity over a consistent period.

Have you ever seen your site ranking for a top spot, then drop off? Likely that you never have good link velocity.

The Title tag is a big factor in your SEO battle, so always make sure that you include your keyword(s) in this tag by all means. If you are smart you will use the All in one SEO plugin to make life easier to achieve this.

On Page SEO Checklist Factor - URL

Another big on page SEO factor. If you have your keyword in the URL of your page it will appear to be more relevant. If you are trying to rank a wordpress post, this is easy to achieve. Just make sure that your “Permalinks” are setup correctly

On Page SEO Checklist Factor - Keyword Density

This is a on page SEO factor that is usually misunderstood. The idea to include your main keywords, not “stuff” them. Ideally you want to go for 1-2% keyword density. The best way to do this is to “harvest” keywords. You need to have a blog and you need to have the Google analytics plugin installed. If you are not sure what it is, you can search for : “analyticator” in the plug-in section on wordpress.

This is a nice plugin that will integrate your blog with google analytics.

Get Some SEo Love

Now, you need to create content on a regular basis so that you are getting some “SEO Love” from google for this to work. Once you start to rank from some keywords, log into to Google analytics and click on the traffic sources link.

Analyze The Sources

Now this is where you will see the results of your lazy mans keyword research. Click on the keywords link that will show you all the keywords that you are ranking for. These are exactly what people have used to find your blog.

Look at The Keywords with High Volume and Low bounce Rate.

In the beginning you may not see many keywords, but as you build more content you will rank for hundreds of keywords. You need to look at two key things:

• Visits
• Bounce rate

Basically you want to focus on the keywords that provide you the most visitors. Then the bounce rate will tell you the “concentration” level of the visitor. If the bounce rate is low that means that the majority of the visitors appreciated your content. You may even want to look at their average time spent on your site to further conclude.

Now all you do is optimize and create more content for these specific keywords to get more traffic and SEO love, you will have learned how to do keyword research on google while you are yawing and sleeping.

Let us attack this one straight off the bat! This is not true! Now I know some people will not agree but here is my opinion, it is not the number of people you sponsor it is the “quality” of the people you sponsor.

Trust me I when you are focused on building residual income with online MLM you need to feel confident that you do not have a massive team of “inactivity”. What is the point of generating all these home based business leads and recruiting if they never do nothing.

In my experience, if your team is not doing anything it is largely because “YOU” are not doing anything or not getting the results to motivate and train them.

MLM Myth: Network Marketing Is One Big Pyramid!

This is a default response made by ignorant people that do not even know what a pyramid is. My response to this is, “what is a pyramid”?….

You know what? Most people do not even know how to answer. So it is a word that is batted around with no understanding of what it is. I am not saying there are not any bad seeds in the industry, but as a whole, in my opinion this is not factual.

MLM Myth: Follow My System and Make Auto-Pilot Money in 90 Days

This is a myth that makes many people feel that they do not have to do any work. You know, I reckon a lot of people fail because they feel they can start online mlm and setup a system then the leads and money comes in on auto-pilot.

If you work hard and build a slick mlm networking system and split-test the hell out of it, yeah, to an extent, it will produce results for you without “much” intervention. However you need to do the long hours first t get it off the ground.

The thing is, increasing blog traffic is quite easy if you know how to re-use your content correctly and by “spinning like a mad merry go round”. If you are a regular reader here then you have probably seen me explain about the 4 step article marketing traffic strategy.

Well, I am going to explain how to take some the headache out of spinning and keep you focused on syndicating your content and increasing blog traffic.

What Is The Purpose Of This?

The idea is to increase traffic to your blog by getting your content in as many places as possible, with minimum effort.

Is Spinning Worth Your Time?

The last time I mentioned spinning, I was asked this question. The answer is, in my opinion, yes. However once you make some “moola” I would strongly advice outsourcing it, but that is a whole new topic that I will not get into right now.

Here Is The Method To Syndicate Your Content and improve blog traffic

Basically you ideally want to come up with 3 variations of your original article, whether you are using my preferred tool: Automatic Article Submitter or another tool or service.

This will mean that you will create hundreds of highly unique variations of the original article. Now many people try to re-write the article in one sitting and spend 45 minutes to an hour and lose their mind!

Forget that! Do this instead, write your original article and sit that bad boy on your blog. Then, a day or two later - “re-write” the article sentence by sentence and submit to ezine, with a backlink to your blog post - why bother re-writing it? Well two reasons, you will get another peice of content ranked and create another variation, which I will explain.

After it is accepted by ezine, then combine the original and re-written article to make “spin text”. So if you are using Automatic Article Submitter you would copy and past each sentence and that would create 2 variations per sentence, with me?

e.g. {Wayne is crazy sharing this|re-written version of that sentence} <== Automatic Article Submitter will output this.

Now if you want maximum uniqueness you can add another sentence to each variation, making 3, and create a mother load of content to syndicate!

Have you ever smelled a skunk before? Phew! What a smell… (ha)…

When you are in the process of perfecting your article marketing campaign you may get frustrated and use such questions as: Why Didn’t This Stinky Article Get Onto Page 1? I know, because I have spent time asking myself the same questions before!

So, to save you anymore hair loss and frustration I have a few suggestions as to why your articles may not be ranking. Think of it as article marketing 101 or article marketing for newbies, you know where I am coming from.

First Thing To Check - Did You Choose The Right Keyword?

Before you even start writing your first article in your article marketing campaign, you have to make sure that you select the right keyword.

It is the same for any content, earlier this week I exposed the YouTube keyword Tool that is used for video marketing.

For article marketing it is very similar, you need to choose the right keyword research techniques. Luckily you are in the right place for information on this, because my blog is full of these techniques, use the search function and read up on this.

Have You Backlinked The Article?

Backlinks are very important when it comes to article marketing 101. The more “quality” backlinks you can get will force your article to to the top of the pack.

However, if you do your keyword research well enough you can find some real golden nuggets that need hardly any, if not no backlinks. Yes, that is what I said - No back Links!

But, be warned you need to dig hard for these “bad boys”, especially if you want high search volume from them.

The Article marketing 101 Secret…..

I am going to let you in on a secret, in my opinion, no matter how hard you try and perfect your article marketing campaign, you can never guarantee a top place search engine position. With experience you can be very sure, but never 100% certain.

Why is that? Well the fact is, if we knew the exact search algorithms we would be able to manipulate the results and many could also abuse this power. So, as marketers we are always fighting the tide, as the search algorithms can change regularly.

So, don’t beat yourself up over one article, as long as the majority are winners, you are winning

The fact is this, 97% of MLM Distributors “DO NOT” fail!….. Yeah I just said it!….. This MLM success rate reflects the number of people that actually gave up before they found the Gold!

Why Do 97% of MLM Distributors Give Up Before They Find Gold?

In my opinion this is simple, most MLM distributors look at the top MLM distributors and set that as their bench mark. They figure that if “Guru x” makes 5 figures a month residual, then they can do it.

Now this thinking is actually right, because as Jim Rohn told us “Anything is Possible”…. However the “Time Expectation is all wrong“! Too many people think these top MLM distributors jump into the industry and bank 5 figures in 60 days!

So, what happens? 97 out of 100 MLM distributors try really hard for 60-90 days then give up before they ever find the Gold! Make sure you don’t contribute to this MLM success rate.

The bottom line is this, conversion is a big topic, and I am sure Chris Owen and Eric McMillan would agree, following their recent trip to hang out with PPC Guru Jim Yaghi, that it has to be specific to your individual goal and market that you are trying to attract. Obviously when you are paying for traffic it hurts more if you do not convert but even if you get free MLM leads, you do not want to waste your biggest asset… TIME!

The basic concept is to give your visitor exactly what they want and make them feel they have landed on the right page with an irresistible offer they cannot refuse.

An Eye Popping Simple 3 Step Method To Article Marketing Traffic

Now, your eyes may or may not pop out like this, when I reveal this simple process. It is not ground breaking or amazing technology it follows the principles of my post yesterday about MLM success stories……

It is easy to do, and easy not to do….

The idea is to create some great article marketing traffic from a simple system. Last year a fellow MLSP member David Wood came up with a strategy using articles and it works well. Since then I have tweaked it a bit to fit in with what I found works.

1 - Keyword Research

Before you do anything, you need to do some keyword research. I know it is boring and annoying but that is the trade off! As I said yesterday, if you want to be succesful you have to do the mundane tasks consistently. Now if you are a regular reader, you know I have covered keyword research to death! Here are some links for you to get up to speed:

2 - Original Article

You obviously need a very well written original article, here is a post I done to get you some amazing click Through rates:

Make sure that your original article is placed on your blog first.

3 - Re-Write It For Ezine Articles

The best place in my opinion for a fast and quality backlink is Ezine Articles. Now that you have your original article, re-write it and point the link in the resource box back to your blog post.

This will give you some direct article marketing traffic and link juice!

4 - Combine and Spin

Now this is where you make the full use of your articles. You need to take the original article an the re-write and create a “spun article”. The idea is to create what is called “spin text”. However I would highly recommend you use a tool such as Automatic Article Submitter as it makes life easy and was one of my best investment.

Ignore the talk about a fast way to spin without writing, that will not get the best effect. Article submitter will help you, but you must create the unique variations. The reason is, without going too technical, most spinners spin on a “synonym basis” meaning they look in a database for “similar words”.

Unfortunately the search engines are not silly. Think about it, the structure of the article is still the same, same word count, same paragraph length, same sentence length.

The best idea is to spin at a sentence level, the end product should look like this:

{My name is wayne and I find crazy pictures online and give insane value|Wayne is known for insane value and sources comical pictures|One of the most switched on marketers is Wayne, and he mixes humor well with great value}

Make sense? This is what Automatic Article Submitter will spit out when you write the variations.

After you do this, use the tool to submit to hundreds of article directories. Then use these articles again by following this post:

There is one major difference that I have noticed between a successful marketer and the other 97% that are struggling, it is “The Slight Edge Mentality“. If you are into personal development I am sure that you must have heard of, or read “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson.

I am not here to do a book review, but it struck me that there is one quote in the book that seems to seperate MLM success stories and the 97% that fall by…..

“Easy To Do, but Easy Not To Do….”

That, in my opinion is the “Magical Truth” behind these MLM Success stories. Many of the 97% are not prepared to do what it takes to get the level of success that they strive for. Let us look at blogging, the majority of the tasks are boring mundane activities that need to be done regularly.

You have to do keyword research, think of fresh and valuable content, create backlinks by writing articles, etc. I have seen first hand some reactions from people that want a successful blog. They start the blog then decide to give it a miss for a day or two after 30 days of no results, then give up completely after 60 days. Then they look at the succesful blogs and think - “How did that person get so much traffic and blog love!”…

The tasks are easy to do, but easy not to do! So, if you want to be the next MLM success story commit to a goal and stay focused until you get it.

However, Big Al’ taught me that there are clever things you can say, simple sequences that can control your prospects responses. Basically turning a NO, into a YES with words. Now that is great but how about making it even easier?

Here Is The Thing….

Your content that you create, or plan to create is a powerful MLM Recruiting tool that can turn a NO into a YES. It may not seem like that now, but if you are consistent with your MLM articles and blog posts you can convey a state of authority, are you with me?

If you decide to do a daily blog, do not be fooled into thinking that you can just throw content out there as long as it is daily. Yes, you will get readers but they will not “value” your opinion or recommendations.

The “Jedi Mind Trick” In This Context Is Your Perceived Value…..

My point today is this, by working hard on the quality and consistency of your content and applying my article writing secrets to every post, whether that is MLM recruiting tips, or whatever value you have to give, you can control the mind of your prospects that are checking you out or come across you.

They will see that you know what you are talking about, and happy to help them without trying to put your hand in their wallet.

Many people say to me - “why don’t you charge for this information you put out there?” The reason I don’t charge for my powerful “How-To” information is because I have a long term game plan. Sure i could package it up and make some short term cash, but if it is free and helpful, people will keep coming back, use social media to tell their friends and I can help more people. Which in-turn builds my brand.
