Does Your MLM Mentor Matter If You Want To See The Top Of The Mountain and Get There?

MLM Mentor - Will They Help You Get To The Mountain Top?

MLM Mentor - Will They Help You Get To The Mountain Top?

Have you got big aspirations to get to the top of the MLM Mountain? Maybe you want to be the next 7 Figure earner….

The question is, does your MLM Mentor play a big part in that journey?

Personally, in my early days of MLM I didn’t have much support at all from my direct upline. Unfortunately they got sidetracked with other business interests and I was left to learn it on my own.

However I never gave up and actually got some great results, winning a recruitment prize in my first six months => Click here for video - Wayne Vassell Wins 5 Star Hotel Prize

Funnily enough, this early success motivated my MLM mentor to get back in the game and since then they have done well and got promoted through the ranks.

Even though I had it the hard way and succeeded, how many people would have given up? I reckon quite a few.

This is Why I Feel a “Quality” MLM Mentor can add extra value.

What Should a “Quality” MLM Mentor Bring To The Table?

Here are a couple of things, in my opinion, a quality MLM Mentor should have:

Supportive
Always be there to answer any queries that may come up. On top of this be prepared to encorage your distributors with compliments on there successes, whether they are big or small.

Knowledgeable
MLM Mentoring is not just about recruiting as much people as possible to hit that months target.

You have to acquire knowledge that will add value to your team to help them get to the top of their mountain.

The bottom line is this, be ethical and trustworthy. Ideally you want your team to feel that their money invested in their new business was well spent and have faith in your MLM Mentoring to help them get success.

  • Wayne,

I am still on that journey.
I experienced early success and my mentor was
there for me. Always checking in, bringing me on group calls,
reaching out. We had an awesome relationship, I even met her
for the first time in October.
My personal decision was to leave the generic system and improve and
invest in MYSELF. The emails stopped (except for the basics), the
calls stopped. She even stopped doing group calls and had our group
join a larger group so we all lost that connection.

I am now on the journey of trying to find someone, a couple people
were on the list but all they wanted me to do was join their opportunity.

I think I've been receiving more support from the Better Bunch than I ever
    received from my mentors.

    Thanks :)
    Tommy D.

  • Great Topic Wayne

Me and my partner seem to scare our upline sponsors off to another galaxy. We have had 6 that have gone A.W.O.L
But that is not letting us stop getting to that mountain.
Just last night we just found out who our next up-line sponsor is, we can not believe it........!

    Thanks for the post Wayne

  • Hi Wayne,

First off, congratulations on winning that 5 Star Hotel Prize! That's awesome!

    As far as mentors...

One of mine didn't even acknowledge me until I made the first success level in that company. His philosophy was, "look at who's moving in your downline and then work with those people." Another one was, "throw them against the wall and see who sticks." Now, I don't think that's a good idea and it was also very offensive to me.

And here's my reason... people need support and guidance. They need to know that you care and they need to be taught the ropes. If you just wait until things move you may have missed the one person who may have just needed a little 'jump start', but they
quit because they didn't get it. Who knows what that person could have accomplished had you show them you care.

    Well, here's my 2 cents.

    Have an incredible evening!

  • Hey Wayne great post. A mentor should offer his/her time, believe in the individual and provide encouragement to the entire team.

    Congrats on the award!

  • Hey Wayne,

You make some great points here. The best way to ensure the success of your recruits is to be the mentor they need. In essence, every person in this industry needs to add some skills in the business coaching area.

  • Hi Wayne,

You're right, not many will make it happen no matter what. Most people just give up if they don't have a good mentor right there in the beginning.

This is a great topic because we do need to make sure we're good mentors in order to help more people succeed. And that's where caring about them has to be strong.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Your mentor has to CARE about your situation, dreams, failures and successes.

I am glad I have a great mentor

  • Hey Wayne,

Having the support of a mentor definitely helps.. it's true that we have to stay positive and keep move forward but a little "push" would help a lot when we're feeling unmotivated..

    thanks for sharing this,

  • Hey Wayne,

Having a MLM mentor to guide you, is something every really needs. Especially for those who are showing a lot of interest in pursuing.

Cool video about how you won the 5 star hotel prize.

    Take care,
    Jerome Ratliff

  • This is so important! People just don't get this. In my last company, it was all about get them in, give them some tools and let them take off or die on the grape vine. Which is exactly why I left - absolutely no support whatsoever!

Eric is right in saying that it's your own responsibility to drive yourself to success, but by golly someone who will be there for you in the initial stages of your business is absolutely critical!

  • You can't rely on anyone but yourself to create your own success. Sure it would be great if your mentor could hand hold you all of the way, but a good percentage of the learning and growing is going to come from you and no one else.

    Great points,
    Eric McMillan

  • Hi Wayne,

Thanks for sharing that video. That's a great motivator your company uses to make you want to achieve more.

Similarly, Monique and I earned a trip to a ski resort near Provo, Utah within our first 6 months with our company...

To this day, I look back on that trip with fond memories and it makes me feel proud to be with such a generous company. I'm sure you feel the same way.

    Have a great day!

    Hey Wayne

I think a good mentor won't be shy about telling you exactly how challenging this can be,

It's easier to deal with problems if you know its to be expected.

The third party credibility they bring is also a big plus.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Wayne,

Having the right mentor can make all the difference to your business and if that happens to be your sponsor then that's awesome. If not and you truly want to be successful you will find someone else to mentor you because it does not have to be a sponsor. At the end of the day once you decide to be successful you will be despite any obstacle.

  • Hey Wayne,

You don't hear much folks talk about this. I'm glad you did. It is so important to have a mentor that is always fighting with you to see you achieve success. That is all I do I'm the biggest cheerleader for individuals. Everyone can achieve anything they want as long as they believe.

    Chat with you later...
    Josh

  • Hey thanks Josh,

For sure a good mentor can make a big difference.

    Thanks for passing by.
